Sabrina Martinez, SHPR is currently the Senior Global Workforce Planning Advisor for ConocoPhillips. Prior to her time at ConocoPhillips, Martinez held a myriad of Human Resources roles ranging from benefits design, benefits administration and vendor management to recruiting and generalist assignments for ExxonMobil Corporation. In addition, her developmental assignment as a territory sales executive allowed her the extraordinary opportunities to see the business from a new perspective. She began her professional career with Prudential Insurance Company of America as an Information Systems specialist in the Advanced Management Development Program. Rounding out her professional interests, Martinez also invests in real estate, does voice over work and is a Certified Passion Test Facilitator.
A graduate of the United Way’s Project BluePrint program, Martinez currently serves on the Board of Directors for Avance Houston, Inc and is the chairperson for the Human Resources and Head Start Committees. As the immediate past President of the Swarthmore College Alumni Association and Alumni Council, she chairs the Alumni Council’s nominating committee. Martinez is also a member of Swarthmore’s Board of Managers where she is leading the Alumni Engagement Taskforce for the College’s strategic planning process.
An exceptionally dedicated volunteer, Martinez serves in various capacitates for The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Theater Under the Stars, Uniquely Houston®, The Alley Theatre and Sight into Sound. She is also a Social and Recognition Vice Chair for the United Way Young Leaders Council and has served on the United Way’s Project Blueprint class selection, Grant Allocation and Community Building Grant committees. In service to her alma maters, she is a volunteer admissions interviewer for the University of Michigan Business School, the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management and Swarthmore College. Martinez even volunteers for various committees at ConocoPhillips including a committee member for the ConocoPhillips Women’s Network Community Connections Committee as well as the Team Captain for the ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run Awards Team.
Martinez is a Lifetime Member of the National Black MBA Association. Additionally, she is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management and earned the Senior Professional Human Resources certification in 2008.
In 1992, Martinez earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Swarthmore College. In 1998, she earned an MBA with a focus on Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
